Why Guest Portraits Are Perfect for Rehearsal Dinners: A Nashville Celebration at 5th & Taylor

Wedding guest portraits aren't just for wedding receptions. They're also a perfect addition to rehearsal dinners and welcome parties. We recently had the opportunity to provide live guest portraits at a rehearsal dinner held at 5th & Taylor, one of Nashville's best modern dining experiences, located inside one of Germantown’s historic warehouses. With its warm industrial design, elevated American cuisine, and inviting atmosphere, 5th & Taylor was the perfect setting for the gathering of around 100–130 guests. Family and friends enjoyed dinner and conversation while our artists created custom watercolor portraits throughout the evening.

Rehearsal dinners are also an excellent opportunity to treat your wedding party and closest family members to a more personalized experience. Many couples love the idea of guest portraits but worry about accommodating every guest on the wedding day. By offering portraits at the rehearsal dinner instead, you can focus on creating custom keepsakes for the people who have played the biggest role in your celebration. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, siblings, and close friends leave with a hand-painted watercolor portrait that serves as both entertainment and a meaningful thank-you gift they'll treasure long after the wedding weekend is over.

One of the reasons guest portraits work so well for rehearsal dinners is their convenience. Guests simply stop by for a quick reference photo and then return to mingling while our artists paint. Later in the evening, they can pick up their finished portrait to keep as a personalized keepsake from the celebration.
