An Auburn Fairytale in Pink | Live Painting at Fountainview Mansion
As a live wedding painter, I have the honor of witnessing love stories unfold from a truly unique vantage point—brush in hand, heart wide open. And every so often, there's a wedding that wraps you up in its magic from the very first moment. That was exactly the case at Fountainview Mansion in Auburn, Alabama.
From the moment I arrived, the air felt warm with anticipation and kindness. This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a full-hearted celebration created by one of the sweetest families I’ve had the joy of working with. The day was bursting with color—an explosion of pink in every shade imaginable. From soft blush roses to bold peonies and flowing linens, every corner of the property bloomed in joyful elegance.
Fountainview itself is a dream— with sweeping views and regal architecture that feels lifted from a European countryside. Against this backdrop, the couple exchanged vows surrounded by the love of their dearest friends and family.
As I painted, I watched generations gather, laugh, and celebrate together. The ceremony unfolded poolside, drenched in florals and golden light—a stunning, fragrant altar of blooms framing the couple as they said their vows. I captured that moment on canvas: the way the bride’s veil danced in the breeze, the mirrored water behind them, and the soft petals cascading all around. It was pure romance, and an artist’s dream.
But the moment that still lingers with me? The dinner.
This family didn’t just include their guests in a divine seated meal—they invited the entire creative team to join as well. All of us—planners, photographers, florists, servers, and yes, even the painter—were welcomed as guests. It was an act of generosity that touched me deeply. We sat beneath the glowing tent, surrounded by candlelight and stories, feeling not like vendors, but like part of the celebration. It was such a rare and beautiful gesture—one I’ll never forget.
Weddings like this remind me why I do what I do. I’m not just painting flowers and fabric—I’m painting the spirit of a day, the generosity of a family, the softness of the bride’s grandmother’s hand on her shoulder, the wild joy of a first dance under the stars.
And this Auburn wedding? It was a masterpiece of love.
