The Perfect Teacher Gift

It’s already time for back-to-school and I know a lot of mamas are looking for gift ideas for their child’s teacher. As a former teacher of ten years, you’ve come to the right place. I have the perfect gift ideas for you!

I’m here to tell you to skip the cute mug… water bottle… the desk supplies… the tote bag… the beach towel. I know all those adorable items can be tempting, but teachers usually don’t want more things. Yes, we are typically hoarders, but usually there’s a method to our madness and purpose behind each thing we hang on to. So, what do teachers really want from parents? We want your trust and support. If you’re wondering how you can show you care, here are a few simple and inexpensive ideas:

  • Beginning of the year

    • Amazon Wish List/Gift Card - Help teachers get what they really need for the classroom and let them pick it out. Most teachers are busy putting together an Amazon Wishlist during the summer, chock-full of items they know will be useful during the school year. If you aren’t aware of your teacher’s list - just ask!

  • Mid-Year

    • Monthly/Quarterly Pick Me Up - Find out what keeps your child’s teacher going… my go-to’s were always dark chocolate peanut butter cups or an oat-milk latte. My all-time favorite ongoing treat from a parent was a quick drop by with a coffee every so often during the year. I personally loved the adult interaction, hug, and coffee pick-me-up. That mama had my heart for sure […when I quit to pursue art full time, she even dropped by my home with a coffee! Tears!]. You can always leave your treat for your teacher in the front office too!

  • Anytime

    • Thank You Card - Spell it out! Never hesitate to tell your child’s teacher how special they are and how much of a difference they are making in your child’s life. After all, that’s what keeps teachers going most of all.

I have a FREE download here to help you get started! Print, card and gift tags all available for you to help celebrate the sweet teacher in your life.

You don’t have to spend a lot to show your child’s teacher that you appreciate their efforts. Emails, calls, and in-person thank you’s are free, but certainly mean a lot. Every small act of kindness helps to support our teachers.
