The Magic After the Moment: My Live Painting Touch-Up Process
There’s something truly special about the energy of a wedding day—the music, the laughter, the loving glances between newlyweds. As I paint live during these celebrations I’m capturing this energy in real time. But what happens after the last song fades and the easel is packed away?
Once I’m back in the quiet of my studio, the next chapter of the painting’s story begins. This is when I take time to revisit the piece with fresh eyes, refine details and add depth where it’s needed. I make sure that every brushstroke aligns with my client’s vision and the day’s ambience.
After some updates have been made I share photos with my couples for final approval. This offers a glimpse of the refined artwork and ensures complete satisfaction. As soon as the final details have been solidified I preserve the vibrancy and protect the painting from environmental factors with a varnish. This not only enhances the colors but also adds a professional finish, ensuring the artwork stands the test of time.
Custom framing is up next! I collaborate with a premier local framer to ensure that the final piece complements my client’s home decor and personal aesthetic. And Voilà! Within 8 to 12 weeks of the wedding day the final piece is in hand.
