Ceremony Painting at The White Dove Barn

I had the pleasure of joining Chloe + Walker on their wedding day at the breathtaking White Dove Barn. The view here is just breathtaking. From the rolling hills, to the sea-foam, sage, and dark brown tones, plus the gorgeous florals, the ceremony provided the perfect backdrop for a painting. It was an actual fairytale.

I set up shop in the pavilion down the hill an hour or so before the wedding and began photographing and sketching to get a feel for the painting’s composition. I wait until the guests arrive to lay the first layers of paint. I want them to be able to experience the painting from blank canvas to finished work of art.

After the ceremony the WDB crew took me and my easel up the hill on golf cart so that I could continue to paint at the reception. They are the best! I rendered C + W into the painting as well as their guests with champagne, blush, and sage tones to represent their wedding colors and neutral home interiors. I love the colors they chose and the overall beachy vibe of the painting. I’ve had several new clients over the years reference this painting for their desired soft color pallet.

The reception is one of my favorite parts of live painting because I get to chat and interact with the guests while I’m capturing the event on canvas. They love watching the painting come to life throughout the night and love when the bride and groom are added in.

Update: This summer Chloe reached out to have me provide my custom framing services and I cannot express to you how happy to made me to get this back in the studio. Professional framing adds the most elegant and chic finishing touch. Pictured is my most popular champagne gold frame. I’m so glad I was able to have it professionally photographed by Gabrielle von Heyking while it was here, too. Stunning!
